Adur Art Collective - 10 July – 2 October 2010
In celebration of Worthing and Adur Councils’ partnership working, this all-new exhibition at Worthing Museum and Art Gallery showcases Adur District artists fresh from the Adur Festival Art Trail.
Cultural Projects - Arts Development, Pamela Driscoll commented: “Contemporary, affordable, diverse and unique – just four words capture the essence of up to 80 mixed media works by some 30 local, professional painters and crafts people”
Highlights of the show include joyfully colourful paintings and prints by Shoreham Beach artists Miranda Vincent and Katie Sollohub, alongside Gillian Hill’s mosaics, Tamar Rose’s ceramics and Chris Howitt’s stained glass. Lancing-based Marcus Finch’s pastels, paintings and ceramics combine with Philip de Mazia’s dynamic mixed media sculpture. 2D and 3D are well represented with forms and structures by local sculptors from the City College Brighton and Hove, Northbrook College and Steyning Adult Education taught by Teresa Martin, whose stunning larger scale work can be seen in our Garden exhibition Double Take this summer too!
Adur Art Collective at Worthing Museum and Art Gallery really is a rich mix of media and local talent. If you missed the Adur Festival Art Trail or just want to savour it some more, then now’s your chance to catch up and you don’t have to walk miles in the heat!
