Anthony Veale Sculpture - 9 October 2010 – 15 January 2011

Quirky, thought-provoking and Surrealist-inspired sculpture and mixed media work best describes Anthony Veale’s first exhibition at Worthing Museum and Art Gallery.

From iconic children’s picture posters to Carrera marble and bronze sculptures, to oil and acrylic paintings, Anthony’s prolific career as an artist has progressed through many stages. His belief in absolute freedom of expression explodes all at once in this rich and varied show where, according to the sculptor;
The choice of subject matter is as diverse as the thoughts, feelings and beliefs that reveal us for what and who we are.

Anthony used to live in West Sussex and is keen to show his recent work in the county since moving to Devon some years ago.

Here in the museum’s Garden, Garden Gallery and Landing area, Anthony showcases as many as 30 significant pieces of his work including the literal Lead Balloons, the René Magritte-inspired Consensus and provocative double-entendre pieces such as Frutti and Homogenous Erogenous.

This eye-catching exhibition is all about creativity and experimentation and celebrates Anthony’s interest in the fun side of humanity. You can’t help but notice it as you walk past the museum garden....so you’d better come in and experience the rest!

Press Call Information: Come and see for yourself and meet Anthony Veale himself between 11am and 12 noon on Friday 8 October as he sets up the show in the Garden. Refreshments and sculptor-in-action photo opportunity available!
