December: A Joyful Month?
December is here and the town and shops are getting their festive coat on.
It is nice to see the lights in the streets and a bit of tinsel to cheer up the shops!
For some, this means joy and the anticipation of forthcoming parties with friends and families. For others, this month is one of the most difficult times of the year!
The decorations only remind them of people that are no longer here or the things they used to do and no longer can.
But why stay stuck at home when there are so many things happening around?
Have a look at the ‘What’s on pages’ of the magazine!
Also, there are places like the Healthy Living Centre in town or the Lovett Centre in Maybridge where festive lunches are organised practically every day of the week.
We also have seasonal entertainment in the afternoon and the possibility of meeting new people round a cup of tea and a mince pie.
If you want to give it a try or simply speak to someone who could help you to get a bit more out of life, give me a ring or call us on 01903 528 600.
We will probably also be able to help you with transport to get there!
December is also a great time to slip a card in your neighbour’s letter box!
Who knows, this might bring the beginning of a new friendship?
I wish you all a Merry Christmas and will be back in the New Year.
