Event announcement from West Sussex Writers' Club (WSWC)

We are very pleased to announce the following event and would be grateful if you could give it a mention. Our group meet every month at the Pavilion, Field Place, Worthing and we have an exciting and interesting list of events planned for 2009/10, of which this is just one of them.  You don't have to be a published writer to come along!!

Ali Sparkes on Writing for Children
 
We are delighted to welcome Ali Sparkes to our club as this is the first time Ali will have given a talk to our members.
 
Ali Sparkes is a journalist and broadcaster and has always loved adventure stories about kids who poke about in woods, who are having a hard time but can still be brave and amazing or who live an ordinary life until something extraordinary happens to them. Her 'Shapeshifter' series has been a hit with action/adventure story lovers all over the world and her 'Monster Makers' series attracts lunatics of all ages.
 
Ali's book 'Frozen in Time' has won the West Sussex Children's Book Award for 2010, voted by children in years 6 and 7. It was also voted Blue Peter Book of the Year.
