The Local Priorities for Gaisford set by the Panel at the last meeting on 10th March 2010.
1. Parking on Corners – Dangerous parking on corners and Junctions.
2. Anti Social Behaviour – Concentrating on those who are drinking and using drugs.
The next panel meeting is to be held on May 12th 19:00 2010 19:00 hours at the Millennium Hall in Worthing High School , South Farm Road, Worthing. This is to the left of school when entering the car park.
A community walkabout took place on 29th April led by Worthing Homes and involved the local residents, police and councillors. It is being considered that the green space behind Carnegie Road to have a Helping Hands Wildlife and Garden Project developed.
They are currently looking for volunteers please contact Sue Brown the Resident Involvement Co-ordinator with any questions.
DISTRACTION BURGLARIES.
On 14th April at about 17:00 hours a male, with short brown hair, white, slim build and aprox 5’5 height in his late 20s early thirties gained entry to a property in Cortis Avenue.
Male said he was from the waterboard and had a photo ID but no company name.
He managed to enter saying he was checking water pressure and spent some time in property before leaving when home owner said she was calling a friend to come round to be with her. Nothing reported taken on this occasion.
Please take care when allowing workmen into your homes. If they are genuine they will understand if you check company’s name and call using phone directory for contact number. If you are unsure or have any worries do not let them in. The company they work for will be able to supply details to you if they are working in the area and give names of who they will be sending to your are.
ANTI – SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR.
We are not experiencing a problem with this although some incidents have been reported in the South Farm Road area. There has been evidence of empty beer cans and alcohol bottles found in the playground off of Queen Street. This is cleared away regularly by Worthing Homes. Any information of anti-social behaviour happening here please call in.
VEHICLE THEFT - DAMAGE.
This last month we have had reports of vehicle damage to cars in Brittany Road where a windscreen wiper was removed and one damaged. serial 567 24/04/10 refers.
Two reports of damage in Carnigie Road a wing mirror damage and dents to the vehicle serial 932 05/04/10 refers and another vehicle with a wing mirror damaged serial 878 07/04/10 refers.
Gaisford close where it is reported that brake pipes have been cut serial 1806 26/04/10 refers.

BURGLARY and THEFT.
A garage in Woodside Road was broken into by ripping off lock and removing a bicycle

BICYCLES.
Three reported stolen in April from Worthing High School, Thomas Beckett Middle School and Southcourt Road.
GRAFFITI HOTLINE.
Worthing Borough Council, with the help of West Sussex and Adur councils, has a free graffiti cleaning service. It is available to residents and businesses of all sizes, denominations and tenancies. All it takes is for you to contact us.
We remove swearing, racism and other offensive graffiti normally within 24 working hours. The majority of other graffiti we remove within 48 hours where we can. This is influenced by the workload and weather of course. Our current record stands at 92% of all graffiti removed within 2 working days of being reported to us. Normally we do not come out on weekends or bank holidays unless the graffiti is of an extreme nature.
