Gaisford Ward Newsletter - September

The Local Priorities for Gaisford set by the Panel at the last meeting on 14th July 2010.

1. Maintaining a low level of anti-social behaviour.
2. More Police Patrols at night to monitor anti-social driving.
3. Monitoring calls made to police concerning loud people returning home from town.

The next panel meeting is to be held on September 15th 19:00 2010 19:00 hours at the Millennium Hall in Worthing High School, South Farm Road, Worthing. This is to the left of school when entering the car park.

Worthing Homes are hoping to start work on a community garden in September on some waste ground in Cortis Ave next to the College.

A White van has been seen in the area touting to residents to do Driveway work, please make sure any work you have done is by a qualified trades person that you can check up on. If you have any worries please phone in on non emergency 0845 6070999.
 
Anti – Social Behaviour
With the lighter evenings reports of youths drinking alcohol in local parks have been called in. Patrols will be continued in the parks to help combat this.

In July there have been reports of youths causing various problems in:

• South Farm Road
• Broadwater Road
• Manor Sports Ground
• Parks between Queen Street and Carnegie Road.

Environmental Health
You may find that over the summer months you are more aware of noise issues.
For noise issues please call 01903 737755 or out of hours 713976. for fly tipping 221090.

• Pavilion Road x1,
• Westcourt Road x2,
• Bridge Road x1,
• Wiston Ave,

Burglary theft, criminal damage and attempted break-ins
Pavilion Road – damage to plants
• Langton Road – Attempt to gain entry
• Rectory Road – Break- in
• Pet Shop South Farm Road – Charity boxes stolen (suspect arrested)
• South Farm Road – Garden ornaments stolen.
• Eastcourt Road – Garden items stolen.
 
Bicylces
Broadwater Road – Bike parts  stolen,
Carnegie Road, South Farm Road, Alfriston Road and Bridge Road bicycles stolen.

Remember to secure bicycles with a good quality lock when not in use even if you are only leaving unattended for a few minutes.

Worthing Borough Council, with the help of West Sussex and Adur councils, has a free graffiti cleaning service.
