Intergenerational Bowling Day
(Annual Summer Event with St Andrews)
On 6 July a group of our older people joined boys from St Andrews Boys School at the Bowling Alley in Worthing for two games of Ten-Pin Bowling.  After lunch ‘al fresco’ on the promenade we joined the boys at the school for two games of Short-Mat Bowls.  There was a really good feel to the day and positive comments were made by both sides which included ‘we can’t wait to repeat this next year with St Andrews Boys’ and ‘we would be proud to speak to older people in the future when with our friends’.

A bid has been put forward once again by St Andrews Boys School to be awarded the Worthing Rotary Club Young Citizens Award for 2010 and Worthing Neighbourhood Care Alliance wishes them every success!

Tai Chi (Guild Care outreach in your community)
Guild Care’s popular Tai Chi class held at the Parish Rooms on Friday afternoons currently has free spaces, why not come along and try!  This is an opportunity to exercise and meet new friends.  Please ring 01903 528600 to book your place.

From 28 May Guild Care’s Outreach project will be holding fortnightly information sessions at The Parish Rooms on every other Friday at 3pm, after their Tai Chi class.  Health Trainers and Community Link Workers will be in attendance.

As one of three Community Engagement Workers, a Co-ordinator and an Administration Assistant working in Worthing and funded by the Partnerships for Older People Project, unfortunately I may not be here after 30 September because because at present further funding cannot be found for Worthing Neighbourhood Care alliance.

I would like to thank everyone who has helped me with my work and our Service users for being so supportive and such fun!

In the meantime please be assured that we will still be delivering our high level of service until 30 September.
