Linda's News - February

Davisons School

The WNCA are planning interesting and exciting Intergenerational events with Davison’s School, Worthing for 2010(Details to follow). If anyone 50+ would like to take part please contact me on 07827 278744.

Tea & Chat Group

Our Tea & Chat group at the Parish Centre (opposite St Mary’s Church) is going strong, giving people the opportunity to make new friends and join a new social circle,  this group is running for 4 sessions.  If there is enough interest we will run another set of groups.  If you are interested, please ring me on 07827278744 for further details.

Tai Chi

Guild Care’s popular Tai Chi class held at the Parish Rooms on Friday afternoons currently has free spaces, why not come along and try!  This is an opportunity to exercise and meet new friends. Ring 01903 528635 to book your place.

Volunteer Opportunities

Local Voluntary groups are always looking for volunteers.  Volunteering is a two-way process and can be very satisfying for the volunteer as well as providing much needed company for older people. Please contact me on 07827 278744 or email , for more information.

Dial-a-Ride provides a door-to-door transport service for people who are unable to use public transport because of either a permanent or temporary disability.  Bookings are taken between 9am- 11 am each morning for the next day.  For further information ring: Geoff Davies on 01903 530053.

Looking forward

We have secured funding for a Theatre Bus, which we hope to launch in the next few months, if you are over 70, lonely and isolated, without transport, and interested in going to the Theatre, please ring 01903 538904 to register your interest.

If you are looking for a new activity that is not shown here, or to meet new friends in 2010 why not ring Worthing Neighbourhood Care Alliance on 01903538903or look on our website www.wnca.org.uk.
