Linda's News - March

Davisons High School for Girls

We are working with Davison's School on two new exciting intergenerational projects and are looking for older people who want to contribute to their local community, whilst learning new skills and having fun, to join our Intergenerational Choir and an Intergenerational Cook and Eat project. If anyone 50+ would like to take part please contact me on 07827 278744.

Tai Chi

Guild Care's popular Tai Chi class held at the Parish Rooms on Friday afternoons currently has free spaces, why not come along and enjoy the ‘calm’.  This is an opportunity to exercise and meet new friends. Please ring 01903 528635 to book a place.

Volunteer Opportunities

Local voluntary groups are always looking for volunteers.  Volunteering is a two-way process and can be very satisfying for the volunteer as well as providing much needed company for older people. Please contact me on 07827 278744 or email for more information.

Dial-a-Ride provides a door-to-door transport service for people who are unable to use public transport because of either a permanent or temporary disability.  Bookings are taken between 9 and 11 each morning for the next day. For further information ring Geoff Davies on 01903 530053.

Looking forward

Together with Synergie Hair and Beauty Salon in Worthing we are planning a Pamper Event that will take place in April. If you are 50 plus and would like to join us for a Cut and Blow Dry, Massage, Manicure or other beauty treatment at a bargain price and meet new people at the same time, please contact me on 07827 278744 or the Worthing Neighbourhood Care Alliance office on 01903 538903.

If you are looking for a new activity that is not shown here, or to meet new friends in 2010, why not ring Worthing Neighbourhood Care Alliance on 01903 538903 or look on our website?

Quote for March: ‘Springtime is the land awakening.  The March winds are the morning yawn’. (Lewis Grizzard, Kathy Sue Loudermilk, I Love You).

See you in April
