Quality Kwilk Dry Cleaners in Durrington Celebrate 22 Years of Spotless Service.

In 1989 Gloria Cannon took over a dry cleaning establishment in Half Moon Lane, Worthing and Quality Kwilk was born. She was joined by husband Jeff in 1996 who opened the Tesco unit in Durrington. Both shops operated until 2003 when Gloria semi retired. When Tesco opened a new superstore in 2010, Quality Kwilk relocated and reopened there this February. The new location has given the business an opportunity to invest in state of the art dry cleaning machinery which is more efficient and more environmentally friendly plus a garment conveyor system.

Dry cleaning and in particular the care of designer clothing and wedding dresses, is still the main concern, but Quality Kwik also offers a range of other services to customers. These include, repairs and alterations, laundry (including duvets), hire of carpet cleaning equipment and mattress cleaning at home. There is also a curtain cleaning service which includes taking down and re‑hanging with free collection and delivery included. A shoe repair service is to be added in April to complement the existing sale of polishes and laces and in response to demand a full range of Dylon dyes will also be stocked from April. A wide variety of handbags, purses and gentlemen’s belts is already available.

A loyalty card has been introduced and for a small annual fee, “Privilege” will give 10% off all cleaning and repairs and £1 off duvet cleaning. This is proving to be of great benefit to regular customers who can also take advantage of “three for two” “five for £20” and other deals on offer throughout the year. When cleaning a wedding dress recently, Jeff realised that they had been dry cleaning this family’s clothes for some sixteen years and that he had actually cleaned an anorak for the bride when she was just six years old!
