Looking for Information & Advice about Disability in West Sussex?

West Sussex Association for Disabled People is a local charity which works across the county to provide a number of different services for disabled people and their families and carers.

One of our key services is an Information and Advice service, which is open 10am to 4pm Monday to Friday throughout the year. Many disabled people and their families are not always sure where to go to find out information about specialist equipment, leisure activities and other services which are available to them and which they are entitled to.

We point them in the right direction and provide help and support.  In conjunction with this, we run a second hand disability equipment sales service called AskDES (www.askdes.org.uk).

This offers people the chance to buy and sell specialist disability equipment, from scooters to portable ramps, at an affordable price.

We also run social groups throughout West Sussex, which run activities from tea and chat groups to day trips out. These groups provide an active social life and independence for members. In addition, we have helped set up two Access Groups which work within their local area to promote disability equality and provide advice about accessibility issues to organisations of all sizes.

If you would like further information any of our services, please contact us at 01903 244 457 or by emailing . We also have a website www.wsad.org.uk.
