Pride... We spend our life chasing perfection...

• Our house needs to be the cleanest to impress friends and relatives.
• Our children are the best.
• Our front garden needs to be immaculate as ‘we don’t want the neighbours to talk!’

In a way, pride is a good thing as it makes us reach for our best.

But there is a time when pride is not so good.

That is when we don’t ask for help when we need it.

My team and myself help people to stay independent in their homes by giving them information and access to services.

Even after years of working in this sector, I am still amazed by how often people don’t ask for help because they are too proud.

Don’t get me wrong, I understand that it is hard to ask for help but when somebody asks you if you need support, why not just tell them?

If you are struggling with the housework, just ask for help. If you can’t afford the bills, share your concerns.

If you are in pain, speak out!

The truth is that there are many people over 60 in your situation and the ones who have asked for help are now so much better off.

So just come and see us before the Tai-chi Session or ring me on 01903 528 627, just like other people have done.

Our advice is free!
