Sylvia 'Pulls' it off

Worthing Croquet Club had a marvellous summer, not only was the weather good but also the standard of play was top-class! Several of our newest members enjoyed their own competition and we were hard pushed to guess who would be the winner!

Well done all of you and a special thanks goes to Sylvia  and her team who took time to coach them, which gave us several mornings and afternoons of enjoyment.

• The winners of the New Members Competition were: John Carne and Arthur Wells.

• Runners-up were Pauline Reymond and Liz Farrow.

Since our last article in Broadwater Pages we have played several competitions, both internal and external, from which you will see that Sylvia has had a good year, well done Sylvia for you have put a lot of hard work into our Club to make it a success.

Woodhead Shield:

Runner-up - Mary Jones

Pegasus Plate:
Winners - Sylvia Wheatley and John Carne
Joint Runners-up - April Roberts, Liz Farrow, Mike Solomons and Joy Wood

External competitions were played against Littlehampton, Rother Valley and Teams Day at Southwick which were very enjoyable.

Now we are looking forward to our winter play at Field Place.
