The Future of Worthing Neighbourhood Care Alliance
Over the past 2 years, Worthing Neighbourhood Care Alliance has operated with the support of funding from Partnerships for Older People’s Project (POPP) enabling older people to “ add some life to their years”.
The POPP funding was for a period of 2 years, and it has not been possible for further funding to be found. Therefore WSCC have now confirmed POPP funding will cease on September 30th 2010 and this project in its current form will end on that day.
This will affect the Neighbourhood Care Alliance and the Community Partnership Team.
This funding paid for the staff employed by Worthing CVS and Circles Network.
We know that the WNCA has made a real difference to people’s lives in Worthing, we hope that a lot of the projects and initiatives we have supported and helped build, will carry on, and we know that from October individual organisations will work together to support older people in Worthing.
We will be here until 30th September and will be providing the same high level of service and information to groups and individuals as we have always have.
If you need any help at all with information, or would like to take part in one of our activities, you can still contact one of our Community Engagement Workers until the end of September. Or if your group needs support with publicity, funding or Development, please contact us as soon as possible, and we will arrange for a meeting with our Community Fundraiser or Development Officer.
After September 30th Worthing CVS will endeavour to keep you informed as to other services to support the independence of older people and any news concerning the future of this type of work. Help will continue to be available from a wide range of organisations in the area.
Please do call Worthing CVS on 01903 528620 for further information after this date or go to www.worthingcvs.org.uk and you can also email with any questions.
