Worthing Neighbourhood Policing Team December News
DISTRACTION BURGLARY TACTICS:
Surrey Police have issued a document illustrating several symbols being used by distraction burglars in the Surrey area. These symbols have been found on the walls and pavements of properties, which have been burgled or an attempt made to gain entry. Surrey Police believe the occupants may have been visited days or weeks before by a bogus caller pretending to be from the water board, gas company or such like, who have gained access and surveyed the property and on their departure have scribbled the symbol in chalk. Please be advised none of these symbols have been seen in Sussex as yet, but If you notice any of these symbols on walls or pavements, please alert Sussex Police immediately. If possible take a photo and send directly to me.

ANTI SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR EAST WORTHING INDUSTRIAL ESTATE:
Sussex Police has received reports of youths riding mini motorcycles and cars in an antisocial manner on this estate. In addition to this the riders have been reported as not wearing crash helmets. This is both dangerous to the driver and illegal. It is an offence to ride mini-motor on pavements, in parks and on public highways. It is also a requirement to tax, MOT and to have insurance in order for them to be road legal. If you see anyone acting suspiciously in this area please contact us.
