Worthing’s Comedy Fringe 2011
Like every good town Worthing has a Comedy Festival (this year will be the second such festival). It is accepted practice that every good festival demands a fringe (just look at Edinburgh) so for the first time this year Funny Lingus Promotions are very pleased and excited to introduce Worthing’s Comedy Fringe.
Running from Thursday the 13th October to Saturday the 15th October Worthing’s Comedy Fringe will bring an eclectic mix of all comedic forms to venues across the town.
We have Improvisation Comedy in the Richmond Rooms, charity quick fire Gag nights at Bar FortyTwo & Grand Central, a mixture of stand up comedy nights at the Charles Dickens & Bar FortyTwo, drag artists at The Warwick & The Stage, Poetry at The Hare and Hounds and Edinburgh Festival shows at Occasions to name a sample of what is on offer.
The acts are coming from near (Worthing and Brighton) and far (all parts of the UK) and are a mix of professional, experienced circuit comedians and new to the art.
The Fringe will warm up at The Warwick on Wednesday 12th Oct (with a little hors d’oeurves) and kick off on the 13th Oct at Bar FortyTwo with a charity Gag-a-Thon in aid of Water Aid. Water Aid is the main charity for our sponsors Southern Water. We are very proud to have Southern Water as the sponsor for this first Fringe. The full programme of events will be on our Facebook page (Worthing’s Comedy Fringe),
you can also see the programme and buy tickets on www.Ents24.com.
We can be contacted via email () and you can follow the action on Twitter (@ WorthingComedy).
We have shows that are free and others that are priced between £4 and £10. Tickets go on sale from the 10th September and with a programme that offers something for everyone I am sure you will be able to find somewhere to tickle your fancy at Worthing’s Comedy Fringe.
