You can’t blame everything on the menopause - or can you?

Menopause, a normal event in every woman’s life can lead to a huge range in severity and duration of symptoms. Some women see it as a positive liberating experience but others look upon it negatively considering the end of childbearing years to be a loss to their womanhood and purpose in life.

Having suffered debilitating symptoms Cecily Brotherton was inspired to set up ‘Change for the Better’ a menopausal workshop and support group. Each session will be lead by a specialist speaker.

Speakers will focus on nutrition, medical issues, how to deal with symptoms, the importance of relaxation and exercise, personal relationships, how to feel better about yourself, and how to prepare for a healthy and happy post menopausal life.

Dates for the next workshop sessions are Wednesdays 12th and 19th October, and 2nd and 9th November. Time 7pm to 9.30pm. The cost of the course is £40 including refreshments. To be held in Broadwater.

This is what was said about the previous workshop:“It has been an opportunity to get things in the open. I’ve felt reassured as other women’s feelings and symptoms are so similar to my own. A relief!” Clare R.

“I have really enjoyed being part of this warm supportive group. I have a much wider and more positive perspective on the menopause. and feel much better equipped to deal with post menopause whatever it brings. Cecily is a wonderfully kind and knowledgeable facilitator and an inspiring life coach.” Lizzie Lee

“I have had quality time to discuss problems and symptoms in depth, helping me to become more positive and focussed.” Tricia
