Young at Art!
Lancing College, The Sir Robert Woodard Academy (formerly
Boundstone Community College) and Davison C E High School for Girls show the
best of their students’ artistic talent in this unique, all-new collaboration
between three Worthing and West Sussex schools.
In Worthing’s first floor Art Gallery this winter, GCSE, A Level
and enrichment project work combine to explore such themes as diverse as
“Cubist fragmentation”, “ancient local myths and legends”, “Architecture into
Abstraction” and “Urban Investigation”.
The exhibition showcases a range of startling contemporary media
from 3D puppetry, textiles, photography and mixed media to more traditional
painting techniques.
Youth Art Collaborative, as an exhibition, is designed to
celebrate some of the area’s most groundbreaking art work being produced
by young people across both the state
and private education sectors. It explores the breadth of media and quality of
teaching and resources available to our local art students today.
Watch out, as some of the artwork may be for sale, or can be
commissioned, thus giving you the chance to acquire an early work by a budding
artist before their career takes off!
